Declaration on accessibility

This information in Easy Read (German)

This information in sign language (German)

We endeavor to make this website barrier-free. The legal basis for this is the Bremen Disability Equality Act (BremBGG) in conjunction with the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which is based on EU Directive 2016/2102.

The technical requirements for accessibility result from the BITV 2.0, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 - Conformance Level AA. Further information can be found under the following links:

This declaration applies to the website of Verkehrsverbund Bremen/Niedersachsen GmbH published at fahrplaner.de.

Status of accessibility

This website is only partially accessible. The requirements of BITV 2.0 are not yet fully met in some areas.

Review of accessibility

Compliance with the accessibility requirements was checked by

  • A self-assessment in February 2025
  • Regular review of the editorial content

Content that is not accessible

The following content is currently not accessible:

1. perceptibility
Missing alternative texts for non-text content

Problem: Einige interaktive Elemente haben noch keine eindeutige Bezeichnung (Name, Rolle, Wert).
Relevant standard: WCAG 2.1, Erfolgskriterium 4.1.2 – Name, Rolle, Wert (A)
Actions: The missing titles and labels are added. Header images receive an alt tag and “Read more” links receive an aria label.

Insufficient audio description and sign language in videos

  • There are currently no videos with sign language.
  • Some videos do not contain audio description or subtitles.

Relevant standards:

Missing content in plain language and German sign language

There are currently no explanations in German Sign Language (DGS) or Easy Language on this website.
Relevant standards: Bremische Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (BremBGG)
Actions: We are working on providing this content. The information in plain language will be published shortly.

Lack of semantic structure in the text hierarchy

ome content is not optimally structured, for example <h2> headings are sometimes missing, as the focus was initially on the visual design of the content. In the current version, a strict hierarchical structure was deliberately avoided in order to ensure an appealing and easy-to-read presentation.
Relevant standard: WCAG 2.1, Erfolgskriterium 1.3.1 – Info und Beziehungen (A)
Actions: The structure of the content is revised and provided with correctly labeled headings.

2. usability

Keyboard accessibility limited

The visible focus is not sufficiently highlighted for slider elements.
Relevant standard: WCAG 2.1, Erfolgskriterium 2.4.7 – Sichtbarer Fokus (AA)
Actions: The focus is made visible for all interactive elements..

Hover effects not always visible

Some interactive elements have no or only barely recognizable hover effects. As a result, it is not always clear whether an element is clickable or not.
Relevant standard: WCAG 1.4.13 – Inhalt bei Hover oder Fokus (AA)
Actions: The hover states of interactive elements will be revised to provide better visual feedback.

3. robustness

Non-valid HTML structure

Some pages contain non-valid HTML code, which can lead to display and operating problems.
Check: W3C HTML-Validator
Actions: The code will be checked and adjusted.

Creation of this declaration
